Firm-wide rankings:

France – Insurance – Band 3

The Guide praises the Firm’s handling of “a range of insurance mandates, with particular strength in litigious matters. The scope of the team’s work includes product liability, environmental and industrial risk claims. The team is well equipped to assist with cross-border matters. The law firm represents both insurance companies and insureds in insurance coverage issues.”

UK – Commercial and Corporate Litigation – Band 3

The team is particularly well versed in shareholder disputes, including large group actions, and also advises on cases concerning breaches of contract and fiduciary duties. The firm has strong international capability and is adept at handling multi-jurisdictional cases.”

Individual rankings:

Partner Elliott Phillips has retained his Band 1 ranking for General Business Law: Dispute Resolution in Gibraltar.

Chambers states that “Elliott Phillips of Signature Litigation LLP operates a broad practice, representing clients in litigation ranging from competition law and construction disputes to defamation and breach of trust. He is also involved in investor-state arbitration and breach of contract disputes. He frequently assists clients with international and cross-border disputes.”

A source commented: “Elliott Phillips is a very sophisticated litigator who combines a charming manner with a steely resolve.”

Elliott is commended for showing “enormously good judgement in complex and difficult legal issues, and will often present a sensible and commercial solution. He is a very nice person to work with and he is unflappable in his approach.”

Another source added: “He is pretty measured in how he deals with problems and issues. He is very calm and thinks very sensibly about the strategy.”

Additionally, Elliott is recognised for being “extremely nuanced and sensitive. He is realistic in his approach and is an excellent tactician. He seems to have all of the details at his fingertips and picks things up quickly.”

Partner Emmanuèle Lutfalla has been ranked by the Guide for her Insurance expertise.

Chambers recognises how Emmanuèle “draws upon her litigation experience to assist clients with coverage disputes, environmental and industrial risk claims, product liability cases and business interruption losses. She is well placed to advise on cross-border matters.”

The Guide states that: “Emmanuèle Lutfalla is truly an excellent lawyer.”

A source praised Emmanuèle, noting that: “She is friendly, responsive and an expert in the field.

Partner Philip Dunham has been ranked for his international arbitration expertise in France.

The Guide highlights that: “Philip Dunham of Signature Litigation LLP regularly represents clients in commercial cases before a wide range of tribunals, including ICSID and the ICC.”

Partner Thomas Rouhette has been ranked highly across two categories in this year’s Guide.

France: Litigation: Elite – Band 2

The Guide states that: “Thomas Rouhette is widely praised for his expertise in product liability cases. He also assists with fraud matters and financial disputes.”

A source commented: “Thomas has built an impressive practice in Paris, and his firm is continually developing its team and gaining strong matters.”

France: Transportation: Aviation – Band 3

The Guide praises Thomas for his “expertise in representing manufacturers in product liability disputes.”

A source stated: “Thomas Rouhette is our go-to lawyer in France. He and the firm are incredibly knowledgeable on commercial litigation in France.”

Partner Graham Huntley has been highly ranked in Commercial and Corporate Litigation in the UK.

Chambers notes that “Graham Huntley practises across a broad spectrum of commercial and corporate litigation. He is particularly well known for his work on substantial shareholder disputes but also handles contentious contractual and transactional matters.”

A source noted: “Graham fights really hard for his clients – he’ll never say die.”

Partner Daniel Spendlove has also been highly ranked by the Guide for his Commercial and Corporate Litigation expertise.
