Signature Litigation has been listed as one of the leading 200 law firms in England and Wales, and has also been commended for the Firm’s commercial dispute resolution practice.
It is considered a unique commercial and financial markets boutique litigation practice and, unusually for such firms, which sue banks and financial institutions, also advises and acts for banks and other institutions in the financial markets.
The firm acts for one of the three lead claimant groups of RBS shareholders that brought unprecedented claims against RBS on its failed 2008 rights issue. Although the other claimant groups settled with RBS, Signature successfully pursued the claims and achieved a settlement that doubled any settlement achieved by the other claimant groups.
Signature is representing Bluewaters Communications in relation to its High Court claims against Bernie Ecclestone, Bayerische Landesbank (BLB), Bambino Holdings Limited and others arising from the sale of a controlling stake in Formula One to CVC Capital Partners, which resulted in the conviction of Gerhard Gribkowsky, BLB’s senior executive.
It has been instructed by the investment fund of the Georgian billionaire Bidzina Ivanishvili and his family in a dispute against Credit Suisse for losses of £1 billion over mismanagement of his portfolio in Switzerland, which have led to criminal proceedings against the bank’s fund managers. Proceedings have been launched in Singapore, New Zealand and Bermuda.
