Partner Kate Gee comments on the growth of ESG group and class action lawsuits following the introduction of new ESG fund rules.

In relation to the heightened regulatory scrutiny of ESG credentials, Partner Kate Gee spoke with Bloomberg about the likelihood of increased interest in pursuing group and class action lawsuits against corporates.

“And in the UK, litigation funders face a “spike” in inquiries thanks to new ESG fund rules, according to Kate Gee, a partner at Signature Litigation.”

“UK litigation funders “could see a spike” in inquiries flowing from the regulator’s push to clamp down on firms engaging in guilty of greenwashing when labelling financial products with misleading, inaccurate or over-stated credentials.”
