Specialist litigation and arbitration law firm, Signature Litigation, today announces the appointment of experienced international commercial arbitration practitioner, Flore Poloni, who will join as a Partner to its Paris office.
She will be joining from her role as Counsel in August Debouzy’s dispute resolution practice group in Paris.
Flore has 12 years’ experience as counsel in international commercial arbitration proceedings, both ad hoc and under various institutional rules, representing multinational corporates across a wide range of disputes. She has represented clients operating within the defense, energy, infrastructure, chemicals, IT and investment sectors originating from various regions including the Middle-East, China, Japan and Africa. She was notably counsel in one of the first ICC expedited arbitration proceedings representing a client in a dispute related to the performance of a supply contract and a settlement agreement.
She also has in-depth experience in the enforcement of arbitral awards in France, such as annulment proceedings, challenge of exequatur orders and asset seizures. Flore also has experience in the mediation of complex disputes.
Flore is very involved in the arbitration community in France; she co-founded Paris Very Young Arbitration Practitioners in 2012, one of the first initiatives of its kind. She is presently one of the co-chairs of the LCIA-YIAG (Young International Arbitration Group of the London Court of International Arbitration). She has also had various teaching engagements at the Paris Bar School and at Paris Universities and schools (Paris X, Paris XII and ESCP Europe).
Commenting on her appointment, Flore said: “Signature Litigation’s Paris office has a formidable reputation for litigation and investigations. I am excited to be joining such a dynamic team, expanding our capabilities into the international arbitration arena, in which Paris is a key market, and also working with my colleagues in London to further compound our arbitration offering.” Flore joins on 1 September 2020.
Paris Partner, Thomas Rouhette, commented: “We are delighted that Flore will be joining Signature Litigation. Her appointment signals to the market a compelling arbitration proposition, which dovetails with our established litigation and investigations offering.”
Flore will be the fifth partner based in Signature’s Paris office, and follows the appointment in May 2019 of Nicolas Brooke, former GC for Litigation and Investigations at Société Générale. The Paris office launched in January 2019 with three partners, Thomas Rouhette, former head of litigation at Hogan Lovells, Sylvie Gallage-Alwis, former Counsel at Hogan Lovells, and Emmanuèle Lutfalla, previously a Partner at a specialist insurance litigation boutique.
Signature also recently appointed former head of commercial disputes at Freshfields, Tom Snelling, to Partner at its London office. From September, Signature Litigation will comprise 16 partners and 60 other fee earners across its offices in Paris, London and Gibraltar.
