Signature Litigation and several members of its Paris and Gibraltar offices have been ranked again in the The Legal 500 EMEA Guide 2023, with our Paris office having successfully achieved a Tier 1 ranking for its Commercial Litigation practice.
Paris Office
Dispute Resolution: Commercial Litigation – Tier 1
Signature’s Paris office has increased its ranking to Tier 1 in Dispute Resolution: Commercial Litigation. The Guide notes that “Signature Litigation AARPI houses one of France’s most enviable product liability practices, with the team also handling insurance, reinsurance, ESG, toxic tort and civil fraud proceedings.”
The Guide also comments that “The firm assists a prominent client base including top industrial manufacturers in the automotive, healthcare, technologies and retail areas which it defends in mass claims and other highly sensitive litigation (some of these cases are global and also involve proceedings in many other jurisdictions).”
Partner Thomas Rouhette is ranked in The Legal 500’s ‘Hall of Fame’ for this practice area. The Guide notes that “Thomas has a seasoned, wide and multifaceted practice. He is an expert in international, cross-border litigation and has acted in some of the most high-profile litigations before the French courts on behalf of companies in the scope of a wide-ranging practice, including contract litigation, product liability, corporate and banking disputes as well as fraud and asset tracing.”
Partner Sylvie Gallage-Alwis is ranked as a ‘Leading Individual’. The Guide notes that Sylvie is “known in the French market as a leading toxic tort / mass litigation lawyer” and that she “has been involved in most pro-company case law rendered in recent years, notably in asbestos-related and chemical-related cases, with some cases mentioned in the French Civil and Social Security Codes because of the significant reversal in case law they represent.”
Partner Jérémie Fierville has been ranked as a Next Generation Partner in this category.
Counsels Mathilde Gérot and Claire Massiera have been newly ranked as a ‘Recommended Lawyer’.
Aviation – Tier 2
The Guide notes that “the Paris aviation team at Signature Litigation AARPI advises aerospace manufacturers and insurers involved in complex, cross-border litigation.”
Partner Thomas Rouhette is recognised in The Legal 500’s ‘Hall of Fame’ for his Aviation expertise.
Counsel Claire Massiera is recognised as a ‘Recommended Lawyer’ and “specialises in representing clients in major aviation accidents.”
Senior Associate Ela Barda is also ranked as a ‘Recommended Lawyer’.
Associate Solène Poitrinal has also been newly ranked as a ‘Recommended Lawyer’.
Insurance – Tier 2
The Guide notes that “the insurance specialists in the Paris office of multinational law firm Signature Litigation AARPI have strength in advising insurers such as Allianz, QBE and Global Aerospace, financial institutions such as Société Générale, and corporates across the retail, mining and luxury goods sectors on a diverse spectrum of insurance matters.”
The Guide also highlights that “the team offers a comprehensive service which extends to policy wording, coverage issues, industrial risk investigations, and high-value, cross-border claims related to environmental pollution and operating losses.”
